Information is presented about common pediatric orthopedic conditions of the spine and lower extremity that will allow the therapist to evaluate and formulate an effective plan of care and treatment. Descriptions, clinical manifestations, and treatment options are covered in this course for: angular and torsional deformities (such as intoeing, outtoeing, metatarsus adductus, inward and outward tibial and femoral torsion, bow leg), congenital abnormalties (such as skew foot, club foot, calcaneovalgus foot, vertical talus), developmental deformities (such as flatfoot, cavus foot, hallux valgus, overriding fifth toe), leg length discrepancy, scoliosis, and back pain (including "red flags"). Understand these common pediatric orthopedic conditions, their impact on the patient, and the role of physical therapy.
