615 Strength Training in Children with Neuro Disorders
Description
This course covers the benefits of strengthening children with neurological disorders. The course discusses the effects of strengthening on spasticity, common misconceptions, and how to assess strength. The course then discusses how to design and progress an exercise program and how to adapt the program for children with special needs. Typical exercises for specific weaknesses are given, as well as fun ways to exercise each muscle group. Case examples are provided.

I appreciated most the 'fun examples' for exercise as it is always nice to hear other people's ideas. I was surprised by how useful this was as I have been a pediatric PT for 5 years. It was helpful to refresh my memory of the basics of strength training.
